Funny Things

Every week, my mom asks me what's new that Tanner did.  Sometimes I give her a quick story, but more often, I give her, "oh.... there was this funny thing Tanner said the other day. It was....Oh darn. Forgot it.  He'll do it again."  Usually he doesn't.  But he does something funnier, and I forget it.  Again.  So, I'm going to try to record all the funny stories, quotes, as well as the not so funny moments until he tells me I'm no longer cool and to stop embarrassing him.

• Tanner was sitting on the trunk of the car while Jason was getting sand out of his shoes by hitting them on the bumper, to which Tanner replied, "Daddy, no banging."
• He's a little OCD for cleanliness, even for my OCDness.  He points out trash on the back outside steps (more like dust balls), demands to wash his hands if there's even the slightest bit of dirt on them, and also proceed to tell me that my feet are "yucky" and "wash."
• Most of you aren't aware of our little scare a few weeks back that landed us in the hospital.  He caught a virus which turned into respiratory distress, ER visit and lots of oxygen masks and steroids to control the wheezing.  They think it might be early onset asthma, but can't make a formal diagnosis until they see how things play out, which could be in a week or a year or a decade.  In the meantime, he gets inhaler does 2x/day for the next month or two.  He's now giving his stuffed animals his inhaler medicine (this is the funny part), which is a nice change to initially having to pin down his arms and legs while he writhed in agony for only a few puffs of medicine.
• When he doesn't like something, he says, "Yucky" and scrunches his nose in disgust.
• When he gets really excited, he says "All right" and skips
• He calls you out when you fart, "Dadda poop poop."
• He's very particular about when you sit next to him and where, often pointing out "here," and if you're even the slightest bit off, he doesn't let it go
• He actually cried while watching Benji when Benji was lost.  But he was ecstatic when Benji returned home.
• He's starting to sing songs - Wheels on the Bus and Old Mac Donald.  He even sometimes sings them on his own in his crib in the morning.
• A few moms and kids were sitting on the couch. My friend Lisa (Wyatt's mom) says, "Someone went poop" after smelling a foul odor.  Tanner looked at Wyatt and said, "Wyatt went poop poop."
• Loves to say, "_______ likes you."  (usually a stuffed animal or person.) Elmo likes mommy.  The bunny in the hat likes John the Music Teacher. Tonight, Tanner's boo boo liked me. 
• After tonight's dinner, Tanner was practicing jumping off the stairs while we were waiting outside and Jason was paying the bill.  Three girls walked by (Mom plus a two sisters, probably ages 7 and 10.) Tanner says, "Girls. Watch me." Tanner jumped. They applauded.  Tanner sits on the stairs and says, "Girls sit here." Girls apologize and go into the restaurant.  Tanner follows them into the restaurant while shouting "Girls where are you?" 
• Also earlier at the restaurant, Jason went to the bathroom and Tanner asked "Where Daddy go?"  I told him that he went to the bathroom to wash his hands before eating, to which Tanner replied LOUDLY, "Daddy go potty poo poo."
• Recent conversation with Tanner while in his room: Tanner: Where's Daddy? Mommy: In the living room. Tanner: On couch? Mommy: Yup. Tanner: Daddy sleeping.
• Tanner has an unbelivable memory of people.  The other day, we pulled up at daycare, Tanner saw a woman getting into a car (without a child).  He said, "Ariana's Mommy." I had no idea who this woman was, but he knew.  He also knows people's cars (without the people in them.) "Jesse's Mommy's car."
