Pumpkins for Our Pumpkin Pie

Since I call Tanner "Pumpkin Pie," it was only fitting that he has a few. Wow, it's amazing what people can do with an empty parking lot (now pumpkin patch) in the Sunset district of San Francisco.

Who Needs Walking When You Can Skateboard?

Tanner's bedtime is 7:30. Dadda's is 6:30.

Passed out at the Blue Angels

At the Italian Heritage Parade in North Beach. Tanner loved the dancing bikini ladies on the float who were throwing out salami sandwiches (which his momma caught for him).

You can only imagine Jason's delight when Tanner tried to copy him on the skateboard. One foot on, the other pushing. Who needs walking when you can skateboard, right?

Genius

Not a baby anymore. This is what a toddler looks like:

At the San Francisco Zoo with our friend Cole:

So, I'm gonna take a moment and gloat. Not about me. About my son, the genius Tanner Kai. I can gloat once and a while, right? I think this is worth it: so Tanner's new favorite toy is a small shoe box. Tonight I said, "Tanner, but the box on your head." (without even pointing to the head). He did it, and said, "Hat." Unbelievable. I really don't think we give him enough credit. He's smarter than we thought. Starting equations and Spanish tonight (caballero - we saw lots of horses today).

Tanner's also been pretty sneaky and funny lately. The other morning, I went in to his room after a nap and noticed that he took off both of his socks. One was in the middle of the room, and the other was nowhere to be found. Tanner saw me looking around the crib, and when I got to the back of the crib, he started laughing hysterically. Sneaky Tanner tried to hide the sock from me behind the crib. He's also been more ambitious with the walking lately as well. We may have a walker on our hands in the next few weeks. (Though I'm not holding my breath. He's pretty lazy, likes to the easy way out). Another accomplishment to add to the list (though I'm certainly not proud of it): mastering the TV remote. His absolute favorite toy is the remote, and now he knows to point it at the TV and push the buttons. Ugh.

Also, if you have 5 seconds, look to your left and scroll up a bit. I added a new poll to the blog: Who do you think Tanner looks like - Momma or Dadda? Here's a pic of us in case you forgot how good looking we are :) Interestingly enough, in the pre-birth poll of what will Tanner look like, only 2 people predicted correctly with blonde hair and brown (okay, hazel) eyes.

Where are your manners?

Dinner at Warne casa. Emily Post would be horrified.

Also, check out the pic to the left. (Lil' Baldie). That one was taken one year ago. Boy, does time fly and boys grow.
